A&B Ingredients Low Sodium Sea Salts Receives FSSC 22000 Certification

A&B Ingredients announced that its low sodium sea salt Two Seas Sea Salt® products have received FSSC 22000 certification for the product manufacturing and packaging facilities in Eilat and Atlit Israel.

The FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification provides a framework for effectively managing an organization's food safety responsibilities. FSSC 22000 is fully recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is based on existing ISO Standards.  It demonstrates that a company has a robust Food Safety Management System in place that meets the requirements of its customers and consumers. 18,000+ organizations in over 140 countries have achieved FSSC 22000 certification.  With currently 110+ Licensed Certification Bodies and over 1,500 auditors worldwide, FSSC 22000's mission is to provide a trusted brand assurance platform to the consumer goods industry.

Two Seas Sea Salt is a naturally low sodium sea salt based on a unique blend of sea salts harvested from the mineral-rich Dead Sea and the Red Sea. Not only does Two Seas Sea Salt contain less sodium than other varieties -- up to 60% -- but it is also an excellent source of potassium.  A&B Ingredients offers a range of Two Seas Sea Salt products with various sodium reductions depending on the application.  All Two Seas Sea Salt products offer the foodservice industry a sea salt that not only provides less sodium but also does not affect the taste profile of foods.

In making the announcement, Gil Bakal, A&B Ingredients' Managing Director, said "We are extremely pleased that our Two Seas Sea Salt product range has been recognized by the FSSC 22000.  The proprietary manufacturing process effectively manages food safety while producing an exceptional product. The end result is that food manufacturers can take advantage of the combination of salts from both the mineral-rich Dead Sea and the Red Sea that provides less sodium and a natural taste."
